We first shook hands with Jimmy Lewis at Shreveport’s Band Wars; a battle of the bands type event featuring talent from several different genres. His band, Jimmy Lewis & 8 Second Ride was the only country band.

Jimmy’s band didn’t win, but he’s winning now. His song Don’t Bring the Cowboy Out in Me is currently #3 on the CMW chart. It’s Country Music, and it’s really good. His song jumped from 42 to 3!

Here’s what the current cart looks like. Notice how Jimmy Lewis is higher than Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett, Alan Jackson, and Dierks Bentley.

Congratulations Jimmy! This is really awesome!

Here’s a look at Jimmy Lewis’ bio —

“Born in El Dorado, Arkansas, in 1966, Jimmy has been around music his entire life. Many family and friends played music and would have “get togethers” on weekends to play. He played drums and guitar for the family band from age 11 to 14. He never really was interested much until he was asked to sing one night at the family deer camp when he was 25.  Jimmy was hooked, and some say, found his calling.
Jimmy has been in a number of bands and has played opry’s, bars and night clubs all over Texas, Arkansas and North Louisiana. Places like, Dumas Walker’s and Rockin’ Pv’s in Haynesville, La, Heritage & Silverado Club’s in El Dorado, Ar, Musicfest in El Dorado, and many more.
Jimmy has released 3 albums. Man In The Mirror, Already Gone, and his latest, Don’t Bring The Cowboy Out In Me.”
