From the nest to college; Five students at Northwood High school sign athletic scholarships

The Northwood Falcons are coming off their best football season in school history, and Friday morning five students from Northwood signed college scholarships.

Four of the five signed football scholarships:

Sawyer Cranford is going to Ouachita Baptist.

Lacedric Smith signs with Arkansas Monticello.

Malik Wilson will play college ball at Advanced Prep Academy

Mark Dunkley is heading to Arkansas Baptist College.

Then there’s Mason Kemp, he signed with Mississippi College on an archery scholarship. Kemp is the 3X state champion and national champion.

Northwood’s football team won 10 games in 2017.

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RealShreveport.com in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
