The Most Shreveport March Madness Ever; Southern Maid Donuts glazes the field

The Crayfish slams it home... again

  • Joel Rodgers

Crawfish is the chicken of the ditch, and March is more than a little crazy.

It’s called madness for a reason.

Southern Maid Donuts knocks off Cinderella Drive-thru daiquiri to-go tape two win title, and it has nothing to do with basketball.

Each year millions of NCAA brackets are filled out. A few seconds later, they’re all busted.

In Shreveport, you’ll find several brackets to compete in, but one stood apart. It received more shares, likes, comments, and laughs than any chalk bracket you’ve ever filled out.

“The Most Shreveport March Madness Ever” is witty bracket that crawled from a boiling pot. It has nothing to do with basketball, but everything to do with Shreveport.

Thanks to The Crayfish, a Shreveport themed site dedicated to bringing Northwest Louisiana the fakest and least respected news in the region, The Most Shreveport March Madness Ever was created.

It’s a tournament filled with items, businesses, and notable things in Shreveport and the public got to vote. (See below)

If you’re from Shreveport or Northwest Louisiana, its hilarious. If you’re not from Shreveport or Northwest Louisiana – what’s up? Welcome to the boot!

Watching this bracket play out has given Shreveport satisfaction. The Crayfish is entertainment, and it might be the best local entertainment out there. Can you name a better one? You can’t, can you?

With over 11,000 Facebook likes in only 12 months, the Crayfish has quickly become one of the most popular sources of Shreveport entertainment –  this bracket is proof of that.

The contest was simple, and entertaining. On March 7, The Crayfish posted this:

Thursday afternoon (15 days, and 1000’s of votes later) a champion was crowned:

I have no words, only smiles. Thanks Crayfish, you made our March.
